Research Governance

Research Governance

Medubaris Research operates as an independent research institution. Our primary asset is the credibility of our observations and the integrity of our methodologies.

To protect that credibility, the institution operates under the following formal commitments:

Editorial Independence

Medubaris Research maintains strict editorial independence. No external party—including sponsors, data providers, or subscribers—may dictate the conclusions of our research, alter our methodologies, or prevent the publication of our findings. Our indicators are governed entirely by observable economic behavior and statistical evidence.

Conflict of Interest

We do not accept compensation in exchange for favorable coverage, nor do we build indicators designed to serve as marketing material for external entities. All research products must be independently verifiable and methodologically sound.

Funding and Sponsorship Disclosure

Transparency applies to our business model as well as our research model. Medubaris Research is funded through professional subscriptions, institutional licensing, and independent support. We do not participate in “pay-for-play” research models. If any specific indicator is developed in partnership with a third party, that relationship will be explicitly disclosed alongside the research.

Corrections Policy

We do not seek certainty; we seek to reduce uncertainty. When mistakes are found—whether in our code, our data pipelines, or our statistical assumptions—we correct them transparently.

Our commitment when an error is identified:

  1. Acknowledge: The error will be publicly noted.
  2. Explain: We will document why the error occurred and how it impacted the published indicator.
  3. Correct: We will issue a revised version of the affected data.
  4. Prevent: We will update our internal validation pipelines to prevent a recurrence.

A published revision is not a failure of the research process; it is proof that the process is working.

Methodology Change Policy

Research methodologies are provisional and subject to continuous improvement. If new data, better techniques, or structural economic shifts require a change to how an indicator is calculated, the methodology will be updated.

When a methodology changes:

  • The historical data series will be recalculated using the new methodology to ensure consistency.
  • A public methodology note will document exactly what changed, why it changed, and how it affected historical values.
  • Major changes will increment the version number of the affected product.
