Scope
Medubaris Research studies how economic actors—households, businesses, governments, and financial institutions—respond to incentives and constraints. We focus on identifying where these behaviors diverge from expectations or historic baselines, translating those observations into reproducible measurement frameworks.
Research Lifecycle
1. Observation
Research begins with the observation of a persistent behavioral pattern or structural shift. Our frameworks emphasize directly observable data and document how it complements survey-based measures.
2. Hypothesis and Measurement
Once a behavior is observed, we develop a measurement framework. The goal is not to force the data into a predetermined narrative, but to accurately describe what is occurring. We establish baselines and identify statistically significant variances.
3. Validation
Measurement frameworks are tested against historical data to ensure stability. We identify failure modes, acknowledge confounding variables, and continuously test the boundaries where the framework’s explanatory power weakens.
4. Publication
When a framework demonstrates consistent observational value, it is documented and published. Indicators are not presented as final answers, but as tools for ongoing observation.
Publication Standards
Every published indicator must be accompanied by comprehensive documentation, including:
- Methodology: A detailed explanation of how the indicator is constructed and what data it relies on.
- Assumptions: The theoretical and mathematical assumptions underlying the framework.
- Limitations: The known constraints and conditions under which the indicator may fail or produce false signals.
- Revision History: A transparent log of updates to the methodology or data pipeline.
Methodological Integrity
Research is conducted independently. Conclusions emerge from evidence rather than external incentives. If new data or improved methodologies contradict prior conclusions, the framework is revised and the changes are documented publicly.
